Frequently asked questions

Can a scribe sign notes?
No. Scribes draft and the rendering provider primary-signs. Clinical staff (RNs/LPNs) can co-sign.
Why does ticking `sign_notes` for a nurse not actually let them sign?
Primary signing is enforced by membership type and is limited to providers. When supervision is enabled, use the request on an individual note to ask an eligible clinician for a separate co-signature.
What if eligibility shows the patient is not covered?
Pause and verify with the payer. The patient may have switched plans without telling you.
How long does each stage usually take?
Draft to filed: same day if you check and submit daily. Filed to acknowledged: 24–48 hours. Acknowledged to paid or denied: 7–14 days for commercial, 14–30 for Medicaid, 30+ for workers comp. The patient invoice is raised when you record the patient responsibility. Patient invoice to payment: 3–30 days depending on the patient.
Why does the button not just disappear when I cannot use it?
So that every screenshot, every training video, and every conversation between teammates describes the same screen. Hidden buttons cause "I do not see what you are talking about" confusion; greyed-out buttons with a tooltip say exactly what is missing.
